October 19th is World Breast Cancer Awareness Day, a disease that affects millions of women worldwide. In Chile, it is the leading cause of cancer death among women, with an estimated 10,000 new cases to be diagnosed this year.
The Ministry of Health has implemented several measures to promote early detection of breast cancer, including:
- Free mammogram coverage for women over 40 years old
- Implementation of education and awareness programs about the disease
- Strengthening the care network for women with the disease.
At CyD Ingeniería, we urge regular testing to prevent breast cancer, which involves a simple and non-invasive exam. The fight against this disease is a global challenge and it is the responsibility of all of us to prevent it.
