Kennedy Tunnel – Stage 2 East–West System Improvement

Technical Inspection of Works | Improvement of the Lo Saldes – Pérez Zujovic Interchange:
The Concessionaire Company must carry out this improvement, which consists of the construction of a new bridge over the Mapocho River in the west–east direction and a tunnel in the east–west direction to provide express connections between Av. Kennedy and Costanera Norte; the expansion of the Pérez Zujovic Roundabout; and the modification of existing connections toward the future Costanera Sur.

The main works include:

• Costanera Norte viaduct connecting Costanera Norte with the future Kennedy Tunnel

• Tunnel beneath the Mapocho River, east–west direction

• Lo Saldes Tunnel

• Costanera Sur underpass

• Pérez Zujovic South underpass (Axes C6K and C8K)

• Pérez Zujovic North Bridge

• Costanera Sur Works (CS) and its connections:

  • Kennedy Tunnel beneath Av. Kennedy, between Américo Vespucio and the Pérez Zujovic Roundabout, serving as the express roadway in the west–east direction

  • Retaining the surface express roadway east–west

  • Construction of a two-lane service road parallel to the east–west express lane, running continuously between Américo Vespucio and Vitacura
