  • CyD participates in Codelco's Chuquicamata Underground project, through the CDZ Mining consortium.
  • This important milestone marks the beginning of future services provided to the copper company.
  First Desalination Plant: Minera Escondida
  • Executed in conjunction with the American company CDM Smith.
  • Construction management of the expansion project for Minera Escondida Desalination Plant, owned by BHP group.
  • This plant is the largest desalination plant in South America and allows minimizing the mine's inland water consumption.

40th Anniversary

CyD Ingeniería celebrates its 40th anniversary with a team of more than 850 employees. CyD Ingeniería continues to project itself into the future through a new generational transfer that allows young executives to take over the leadership of the different areas. Thus, Enrique Cruz Ugarte assumes the role of Executive President, while Hugo Ortiz Sembler remains as General Manager. At the same time, the company's structure is organized into four operating managements and three support managements.

Creation of the company

On November 7, 1977 Juan Enrique Cruz y Cía. was founded, a pioneer company in the engineering consulting industry in Chile. From its first office, located at 127 Augusto Leguía Norte Street, a history marked by technical excellence, innovation and commitment to the development of the country began to take shape.

Its founder, Juan Enrique Cruz, a civil engineer and Project Manager at the American company Arthur McKee, identified in those years a market niche in engineering consulting, giving rise to a firm that would eventually become a benchmark in the sector.
